Las palmas branch library grand re-opening

october - december 2025

Las Palmas is a treasured and deeply historic branch located on San Antonio’s heavily Mexican-American Westside. Closed for nearly 3 years for an extensive renovation, the reopening campaign needed to be targetted at the locals and culturally relevant and it needed to meet the enthusiasm the community felt for the return of their library.

The Grand Reopening event, which my team coordinated, was attended by over 600 area residents and featured performances by local school groups. News of the reopening was covered on every broadcast network in San Antonio. Design direction focused on the building’s historic facade and tactics included direct mail in English and Spanish and outreach to local community groups and hyperlocal Westside news publications. A social media preview of the branch garnered over 1,200 engagements against 13,000 impressions on Instagram.
